Overview

Jinggangshan in Ji'an, Jiangxi, is where Mao Zedong established the first rural revolutionary base in 1927 — 'a single spark can start a prairie fire'. Over 100 revolutionary sites dot the mountain. Yet its natural beauty is equally stunning — Wuzhi Peak appears on the 100-yuan note, Dragon Pool's five cascading waterfalls thunder down, bamboo sea stretches endlessly, and the Ten-Li Azalea Corridor blooms each April. Summer averages just 24°C.
