Overview

Jiuzhaigou in Aba Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan, is named for the nine Tibetan villages in the valley. 'No water elsewhere impresses after Jiuzhaigou' — water is its soul, with Five-Color Pool, Five-Flower Lake, and Pearl Shoal Falls displaying dreamy turquoise hues. Jiuzhaigou features six wonders: turquoise lakes, layered waterfalls, colorful forests, snowy peaks, blue ice, and Tibetan culture. Autumn brings the most vibrant palette. After recovery from the 2017 earthquake, Jiuzhaigou fully reopened in 2021. Rich Tibetan culture adds a human dimension to the natural splendor.
