Overview

Mudanjiang is in southeastern Heilongjiang, named after the Mudan River that flows through it. Snow Town (Shuangfeng Forestry Farm) is China's most famous snow destination, with winter snow depths up to 2 meters and cream-cake-like snow roofs. Jingpo Lake is China's largest volcanic barrier lake, crystal clear, with spectacular frozen waterfalls in winter. Weihushan is famous for the novel 'Tracks in the Snowy Forest'. Mudanjiang lies at the foot of the Changbai Mountains—lush in summer, colorful in autumn. It's home to Manchu and Korean ethnic communities with rich cultural traditions.
