Overview

Nanchang is the birthplace of China's People's Liberation Army — the first shot of the 1927 August 1st Uprising was fired here. Tengwang Pavilion is one of Jiangnan's three great towers, immortalized by Wang Bo's essay. Star of Nanchang is the world's third tallest Ferris wheel. Nanchang is also the center of Gan cuisine — stir-fried wormwood with cured pork, Nanchang mixed noodles, and clay pot soup are must-tries.
