Overview

Qufu in southwestern Shandong is the hometown of Confucius. The Temple, Mansion, and Cemetery — the 'Three Kongs' — were inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage in 1994. The Temple is China's largest Confucian shrine with nine courtyards. The Mansion was home to Confucius' descendants. The Cemetery is the world's longest continuous family burial ground. Nishan is Confucius' birthplace with a 72m bronze statue. The annual Confucius Memorial Ceremony is national intangible heritage. Here you feel over 2,000 years of continuous Confucian culture.
