Overview

Qujing in eastern Yunnan is the province's second largest city. The Pearl River originates at Maxiong Mountain — 'one drop of water nourishes three rivers'. Luoping's 800,000 mu of rapeseed flowers bloom in Feb-Mar — an endless golden sea dotted with karst peaks, creating China's most beautiful spring. Qujing also harbors the mysterious Cuan culture — 'cuan' is the character with the most strokes in Chinese. The Cuan Baozi and Cuan Longyan steles are calligraphic treasures. Luliang's Colorful Sand Forest is a natural wonder. As the 'Cuan homeland', Qujing has profound cultural depth.
