Overview
Weihai sits at the eastern tip of Shandong Peninsula, surrounded by sea on three sides. It was China's first 'National Sanitary City' and has been rated 'China's Most Livable City' multiple times. Liugong Island was the main battlefield of the Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895) and is now a patriotic education base. Weihai International Bathing Beach has fine sand and clear water — one of northern China's best. Chengshantou ('End of the Sky') is where you can see the earliest sunrise over the sea.
