Overview

Wuxi has 3000+ years of history, one of the birthplaces of Wu culture. Yuantouzhu is the best part of Taihu Lake scenic area. Lingshan Grand Buddha is 88m tall, the world's tallest bronze Sakyamuni standing statue. Yixing zisha teapots are unique Chinese handmade pottery. Wuxi xiaolongbao and soy sauce pork ribs are famous delicacies.

Core of Taihu Lake scenic area, surrounded by water on three sides, shaped like a turtle head. Cherry blossoms bloom Mar-Apr, Chunyang Bridge area is spectacular.

Huishan Ancient Town

Famous for ancient ancestral halls, Huishan clay figures and Second Spring Under Heaven. Jichang Garden is a famous Jiangnan garden. Huishan clay figures (Da Afu) are Wuxi handicrafts.

Nanchang Street / Qingming Bridge

Wuxi historic district, ancient canal flows through. Qingming Bridge is one of the best-preserved ancient bridges on the canal. Brilliant lights at night.

Wuxi Xiaolongbao

Wuxi xiaolongbao is known for sweet-savory flavor, thin skin with rich broth. Slightly sweet is the Wuxi characteristic. Wangxingji is the century-old famous shop.

Soy Sauce Pork Ribs

Wuxi soy sauce pork ribs, sauce-red color, boneless tender meat, rich flavorful sauce. Sanfengqiao is the most famous old shop.

Huishan Clay Figure

Huishan clay figure (Da Afu) is Wuxi's specialty handicraft, hand-shaped, bright colors, great souvenir.

World & Intangible Heritage

• The Grand Canal (Wuxi Section) (2014) — Inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014. The Wuxi section includes heritage sites like Qingming Bridge Historic District, representing the finest stretch of the Jiangnan Canal. The Qingming Bridge and Nanchang Street along the canal preserve the complete Jiangnan water-town landscape.
• Yixing Zisha Pottery Craft (2006) — Yixing (under Wuxi) zisha pottery craft is a gem of Chinese traditional handicraft, national intangible heritage since 2006. Zisha teapots are known for unique dual-airhole structure.
